Introduction

Hatching Point ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the ContactExport mobile application.

Information We Collect

• Contact Data: ContactExport accesses your device contacts solely to generate export files (CSV or vCard). Your contact data is processed entirely on-device and is never uploaded to our servers or any third party.
• Profile Information: Name and email (optional) that you provide during setup, stored locally on your device.
• Purchase Information: Subscription status (processed by Apple, we don't see payment details)

On-Device Processing

ContactExport is designed with privacy as a core principle. All contact data processing — including reading, formatting, and exporting — happens entirely on your device. Your contacts are never uploaded to any server. The exported file only leaves your device when you explicitly choose to share it via the iOS share sheet.

How We Use Your Information

• Generate contact export files (CSV, vCard) on your device

Third-Party Services

• Apple: App Store handles purchases and subscriptions. Data is stored locally on your device using Apple frameworks.

Third-Party AI Service — Data Sharing Disclosure

ContactExport uses OpenAI's API ("OpenAI", located at openai.com) as a third-party artificial intelligence service provider to power AI features within the app. This section explains exactly what data is shared, how it is used, and your rights.

• What data is sent to OpenAI: When you use the contact health analysis feature, only aggregate statistics about your contacts (total count, number with phone numbers, number with email addresses) are transmitted to OpenAI's servers. No individual contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, or other personal contact details are ever sent.
• Purpose: Data is sent solely to generate AI responses for the specific feature you are using. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.
• OpenAI's data handling: OpenAI does not use data submitted via its API to train or improve its models. API data may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for trust and safety (abuse monitoring) purposes, after which it is deleted. • Your consent: Before any data is sent to OpenAI, the app displays a clear disclosure screen explaining what data will be shared. You must agree before AI features become active. You may review this disclosure at any time in the app's Settings.
• Your control: AI features are entirely optional. If you choose not to consent, the app continues to function without AI capabilities. No data is transmitted to OpenAI until you actively use an AI feature after providing consent.
• Revoking consent: You can revoke your AI data consent at any time by going to Settings → AI Data Usage → "Revoke AI Data Consent." Once revoked, no further data will be sent to OpenAI until you consent again. AI features will be disabled until you re-consent.
• Security: All data transmitted to OpenAI is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption.

Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your data is stored locally on your device.
• No Cloud Backup by Us: We do not maintain copies of your data on our servers.
• Encryption: All data transmitted uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).

Your Rights

• Access: View all data stored in the app
• Delete: Remove your data at any time through Settings
• Revoke AI Consent: Revoke AI data consent at any time in Settings → AI Data Usage
• Cancel: Cancel subscription through App Store

Children's Privacy

ContactExport is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
