Introduction

DailyDump Summary helps you keep notes and turn them into summaries. Local note storage, optional remote AI processing, optional product analytics and advertising measurement have separate purposes and controls.

Notes, summaries and voice input

Notes, note timestamps, saved summaries, themes, action items, mood insights, profile preferences and reminder settings are stored on your device. Device backups may include this data. The onboarding practice summary is generated locally and does not require AI consent.

Voice input uses your microphone and Apple Speech recognition after permission. On-device recognition is preferred where available; otherwise Apple may process the audio for transcription. Your notes and audio are not included in product analytics.

Local reminders require notification permission. When you choose to share a summary, the selected content goes to the destination you choose through iOS. Copies outside the app follow that destination’s policies.

Optional AI summaries

Remote AI summaries require separate AI Data Usage consent. When you request one, note text and note times, selected output preferences and the request instructions are sent through Point’s AI service to OpenAI to generate the requested themes, action items and mood insights. Responses are stored locally after a successful save.

You can review or withdraw AI consent in Settings. Withdrawal blocks future AI requests; it does not remove information already sent. Service providers process and retain requests under their applicable service and security policies. Do not include information you do not want processed. AI output may be inaccurate and is not professional advice.

Optional usage analytics

Product analytics are off until you choose to share. Privacy choices are available during onboarding, before payment and in Settings. Declining usage sharing does not change subscription access or AI consent.

If enabled, Point uses PostHog to record bounded lifecycle, onboarding, note-save stages, summary-generation stages, history views, paywall interactions and purchase outcomes. Events include an anonymous installation identifier and app/version/platform context. Summary completion is counted only after the generated summary is durably saved; the local practice summary does not count as AI activation.

Analytics exclude note text and timestamps, audio, names, email, themes, action items, mood or health details, generated content, transaction identifiers and raw error messages. Automatic content capture and session replay are disabled.

Withdrawing usage consent stops future product analytics and clears pending local events. It does not retroactively delete already received events. Advertising-tracking permission remains separate.

Advertising measurement

With Apple tracking authorization, Meta and TikTok may receive app activity, advertising/device identifiers, and purchase information to measure and improve advertising. Denying tracking does not require enabling product analytics and does not block the app’s features. You can change Apple tracking permission in iOS Settings. SDK diagnostics may include crash or other diagnostic information.

Subscriptions, support and app discovery

Apple processes subscriptions and payment details. The app reads products and entitlements, and Apple determines introductory-offer eligibility. Hatching Point does not receive payment-card details.

Feedback you choose to submit, an optional email address and app/device context are sent to Point’s support service on Convex. Include only information you want to send. The More Apps area fetches public App Store information from Apple.

Network services receive IP addresses and request metadata needed to operate and secure their services.

Your controls and retention

Change usage sharing through Privacy choices and AI sharing through Settings → AI Data Usage. Manage microphone, Speech, notifications and advertising tracking in iOS Settings. Local deletion controls remove local records; they do not delete exported copies or device backups.

Uninstalling removes the app’s local container. We retain service data as needed to provide and support services, maintain security and meet legal obligations. Recipient services control retention of information you send to them.

Children and policy updates

DailyDump Summary is not directed at children under 13. Changes to this policy are reflected in its updated date.
