Hatching Point ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the KetoMacroScan mobile application.

Information We Collect

• Meal Photos: Images you capture or select from your photo library for AI-powered macro analysis. These are sent to our AI provider for processing.
• AI-Generated Content: Text prompts, notes, and inputs you provide when using AI-powered features, and the AI-generated macro estimates and scores returned.
• Usage Data: Information about how you use the app (scan history, meal entries, streak data), stored locally on your device.
• Purchase Information: Subscription status (processed by Apple, we don't see payment details).

How We Use Your Information

• Analyze meal photos to provide net carb, fat, protein, and calorie estimates
• Generate Keto Fit scores and confidence ranges
• Track your scanning history and daily carb progress
• Process your subscription

Third-Party Services

• Apple: App Store handles purchases and subscriptions. Data is stored locally on your device using Apple frameworks.

Third-Party AI Service — Data Sharing Disclosure

KetoMacroScan uses OpenAI's API ("OpenAI", located at openai.com) as a third-party artificial intelligence service provider to power AI features within the app. This section explains exactly what data is shared, how it is used, and your rights.

• What data is sent to OpenAI: When you use the AI scan feature, the meal photos you capture or select, any notes you add, and context needed to generate a response are transmitted to OpenAI's servers for processing. No other personal data (such as your name, email, Apple ID, location, contacts, or payment information) is sent.
• Purpose: Data is sent solely to generate macro estimates (net carbs, fat, protein, calories) and a Keto Fit score for the meal you are scanning. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.
• OpenAI's data handling: OpenAI does not use data submitted via its API to train or improve its models. API data may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for trust and safety (abuse monitoring) purposes, after which it is deleted. • Your consent: Before any data is sent to OpenAI, the app displays a clear disclosure screen explaining what data will be shared. You must agree before AI features become active. You may review this disclosure at any time in the app's Settings.
• Your control: AI features are entirely optional. If you choose not to consent, the app continues to function without AI capabilities. No data is transmitted to OpenAI until you actively use an AI feature after providing consent.
• Revoking consent: You can revoke your AI data consent at any time by going to Settings → AI Data Usage → "Revoke AI Data Consent." Once revoked, no further data will be sent to OpenAI until you consent again. AI features will be disabled until you re-consent.
• Security: All data transmitted to OpenAI is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption.

Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your data (meal history, scan results, preferences) is stored locally on your device.
• No Cloud Backup by Us: We do not maintain copies of your data on our servers.
• Encryption: All data transmitted uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).

Your Rights

• Access: View all data stored in the app
• Delete: Remove all your data at any time through Settings
• Cancel: Cancel subscription through App Store
• Revoke AI Consent: Revoke AI data sharing consent at any time in Settings

Children's Privacy

KetoMacroScan is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
