Introduction

KetoMacroScan helps you capture meal photos or descriptions, estimate macros and save meal history. Local storage, optional AI processing, optional usage analytics and advertising measurement have separate purposes and controls. Estimates can be inaccurate and are not medical advice.

Meal information and local storage

Meal photos, descriptions, notes, macro estimates, confidence information, scores, local goals, profile preferences and meal history are stored on your device. Device backups may include this information. The onboarding practice meal uses bundled sample content and local estimates.

The home-screen widget reads a local shared App Group snapshot containing recent meal details, daily net-carbohydrate totals, your target and streak. These values are not product analytics. The widget can display them on your home screen.

Camera and selected-photo access support meal input. Local reminders require notification permission. When you choose to share a result, iOS sends selected content to the destination you choose; copies outside the app follow that destination’s policies.

Optional AI analysis

Real meal-photo or description analysis requires separate AI Data Usage consent. The selected image, meal description and optional notes are sent through Point’s AI service to OpenAI to generate macro estimates, confidence and a Keto Fit score. The app saves results locally when you choose to save them.

AI consent can be reviewed or withdrawn in Settings. Withdrawal prevents future photo and description requests; it does not erase requests already processed. Providers handle service and security data under their applicable policies. Include only information you want processed.

The local onboarding demo does not send its meal to an AI provider and does not count as a real scan activation.

Optional usage analytics

Product analytics are off until you choose to share. You can decline or change your choice through Privacy choices during onboarding, before payment or in Settings. Usage sharing is separate from AI consent and does not change subscription access.

If enabled, Point uses PostHog for bounded lifecycle, onboarding, scan-save stages, macro-result views, meal-history views, paywall interactions and purchase outcomes. Events include an anonymous installation identifier and app/version/platform context. Meal completion is recorded only after saving succeeds.

Analytics exclude meal images, food descriptions, notes, names, goals, macro amounts, calories, scores, confidence values, health details, streaks, timestamps, transaction identifiers and raw errors. Session replay and automatic content capture are disabled.

Withdrawing usage consent stops future product analytics and clears pending local events. It does not retroactively erase events already received. Apple’s advertising-tracking permission is separate.

Advertising measurement

With Apple tracking authorization, Meta and TikTok may receive app activity, advertising/device identifiers, and purchase information to measure and improve advertising. Denying tracking does not require enabling product analytics and does not block the app’s features. You can change Apple tracking permission in iOS Settings. SDK diagnostics may include crash or other diagnostic information.

Subscriptions, support and app discovery

Apple processes purchases and payments and determines introductory-offer eligibility. The app reads products and subscription entitlements; Hatching Point does not receive your payment-card details.

Feedback you choose to submit, optional email and app/device context go to Point’s support service on Convex. Include only information you want to send. The More Apps area requests public App Store information from Apple.

Network services receive IP addresses and request metadata needed to operate and secure their services.

Controls and retention

Manage usage sharing in Privacy choices and AI sharing in Settings → AI Data Usage. Manage camera, photos, notifications and advertising tracking in iOS Settings. Local deletion controls remove local records; exported copies and backups are separate.

Uninstalling removes the app’s local container. Service data is retained as needed to provide, support and secure the service and meet legal obligations. Other recipients determine retention of information sent to them.

Children and policy updates

KetoMacroScan is not directed at children under 13. Policy changes are reflected in the updated date.

Optional advertising measurement

Some Hatching Point apps include Meta's SDK in a disabled state. It initializes only when measurement is enabled for that app and you authorize tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. When enabled, device identifiers, product interactions, and verified purchase event details such as value and currency may be shared with Meta for advertising measurement and analytics. Payment-card details are never shared. You can deny the request or revoke permission later in iOS Settings.
