Klinka ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Klinka mobile application.

Information You Provide

• Speech Content: Your name, role (e.g., Best Man, Maid of Honor), names of the couple, your relationship to them, memories, stories, and preferences for tone and length. This information is used solely to generate your personalized speech outline.
• Audio Recordings: When using Practice Mode, you may record audio of yourself practicing. These recordings are stored locally on your device and temporarily sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription and analysis to provide feedback on pacing, filler words, and delivery.

Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data (Optional): With your permission, we may access your approximate location (city-level) to enhance your experience. You can deny this permission, and the app will function normally without it.
• Purchase Information: If you subscribe to Klinka Pro, your purchase is processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status.

How We Use Your Information

• Generate personalized speech outlines using AI
• Transcribe and analyze your practice recordings
• Provide coaching feedback on your speech delivery
• Process and manage your subscription
• Improve the App's features and functionality

Third-Party Services

• OpenAI: We use OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini to generate speech outlines and Whisper API to transcribe your audio recordings. When you use these features, relevant data is sent to OpenAI's servers for processing. OpenAI processes this data according to their Privacy Policy and API Data Usage Policy. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models.
• Apple: App Store handles all in-app purchases and subscriptions. Core Data stores your speeches locally on your device.

Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your speeches and app data are stored locally on your device.
• Audio Recordings: Stored temporarily on your device during practice sessions.
• No Cloud Backup by Us: We do not maintain copies of your personal data on our servers.
• Encryption: All data transmitted to third-party services uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).

Data Retention

• Speech content and outlines remain on your device until you delete them
• Audio recordings are stored locally and can be deleted at any time
• Data sent to OpenAI for processing is handled according to their retention policies (typically not retained after processing)

Your Rights and Choices

• Access: View all data stored in the App
• Delete: Remove any speech or recording from your device
• Opt-out: Deny location permissions without affecting core functionality
• Cancel: Cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store

Children's Privacy

Klinka is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
