Common questions:

NFC Tags Not Working

Make sure you're using NFC tags (NTAG213, NTAG215, or NTAG216 recommended). Hold your iPhone near the tag for 1-2 seconds. The NFC reader is located at the top of your iPhone. If scanning still doesn't work, try a different NFC tag—some cheap tags may not be compatible.

Screen Time Permission

Rot Dot requires Screen Time permission to block apps. If you denied permission during setup, go to Settings → Screen Time → Rot Dot and enable access. Without this permission, the app cannot block apps.

Apps Not Blocking

After creating a dot, make sure you've selected apps to block by tapping "Choose Apps" in the dot settings. Then scan the NFC tag to activate blocking. The apps will show a shield icon when blocked.

Subscription & Billing

All subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store. To cancel or modify your subscription, go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Free users can create up to 2 dots; Premium unlocks unlimited dots.

Where to Buy NFC Tags

NFC tags are available on Amazon, Etsy, or electronics stores. Search for "NFC stickers" or "NTAG215 tags." They typically cost a few dollars for a pack of 10-25 tags. Any NFC tag that works with iPhone will work with Rot Dot.

Data & Privacy

All your data is stored locally on your device. We don't have access to your app selections or usage data. To delete all data, simply uninstall the app.
