Introduction

VetLense provides pet profiles, care tasks and reminders, and optional AI health assessments and schedules. AI output is informational and does not replace veterinary care. AI consent, usage analytics, notifications and advertising tracking have separate controls.

Local pet records

Pet profiles, care tasks, assessment history, supplied symptoms and saved results are stored locally. Device backups may include local records. Sharing sends selected content to the destination you choose. Camera and photo access require permission when used; reminders require notification permission.

Optional AI processing

With AI Data Usage consent, pet name, type, age, breed, symptoms, behavior, eating habits, activity level, additional notes and any attached pet photo may be sent through Point’s AI service to OpenAI to generate an assessment. Schedule requests send the relevant pet details.

Requests check current consent before sending content. You can withdraw AI consent in Settings. You can skip the optional onboarding assessment and use local organization features subject to the existing subscription rules. Failed requests do not create a fabricated health assessment.

Withdrawal blocks future requests and does not erase requests already processed. Include only information you want processed. Generated scores, urgency suggestions and recommendations can be inaccurate; consult a veterinarian about your pet’s health.

Optional usage analytics

Product analytics are off until you choose to share. You can decline or change your choice in Privacy choices during onboarding, before payment and in Settings. Usage sharing is independent of AI, camera/photo access, notifications, purchases and Apple advertising tracking.

If enabled, Point uses PostHog for bounded lifecycle, onboarding, assessment and schedule workflow stages, care-task completion, paywall interactions and purchase outcomes. Events include an anonymous installation identifier and app/version/platform context. Task completion requires a successful local save.

Analytics exclude pet names, types, breeds, ages, symptoms, photos, care details, health scores, AI results, user-entered text, names, email, transaction identifiers and raw errors. Session replay and automatic content capture are disabled.

Withdrawing consent stops future product analytics and clears pending local events. It does not retroactively erase events already received.

Advertising measurement

With Apple tracking authorization, Meta and TikTok may receive app activity, advertising/device identifiers, and purchase information to measure and improve advertising. Denying tracking does not require enabling product analytics and does not block the app’s features. You can change Apple tracking permission in iOS Settings. SDK diagnostics may include crash or other diagnostic information.

Subscriptions, support and app discovery

Apple processes subscriptions and payment details and determines introductory-offer eligibility. VetLense reads products and entitlements; Hatching Point does not receive payment-card details.

Feedback you choose to submit, optional email and app/device context go to Point’s support service on Convex. Include only information you want to send. The More Apps area requests public App Store information from Apple.

Network services receive IP addresses and request metadata needed to operate and secure their services.

Controls and retention

Manage usage sharing in Privacy choices and AI consent in Settings. Manage camera/photo access, reminders and advertising tracking in iOS Settings. Local deletion controls remove local records; exports and backups are separate.

Uninstalling removes the local app container. Service data is retained as needed to provide, support and secure services and meet legal obligations. Recipient services control retention of information sent to them.

Contact inquiry@hatchingpoint.com for privacy questions or requests. Anonymous usage events may not be attributable to a named person.

Children and policy updates

VetLense is not directed at children under 13. Changes to this policy are reflected in its updated date.

Optional advertising measurement

Some Hatching Point apps include Meta's SDK in a disabled state. It initializes only when measurement is enabled for that app and you authorize tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. When enabled, device identifiers, product interactions, and verified purchase event details such as value and currency may be shared with Meta for advertising measurement and analytics. Payment-card details are never shared. You can deny the request or revoke permission later in iOS Settings.
