Collab Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Hatching Point provides Collab, a community for musicians to discover artists, share their work and arrange collaborations. This policy explains how Collab handles information. Contact inquiry@hatchingpoint.com with privacy questions or requests.
Information we process
- Accounts: Your email address, sign-in identifiers, profile name and account identifiers support authentication and account management. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Verification and recovery codes are used to confirm account access. Apple or Google handles authentication when you choose its sign-in method.
- Artist profiles: Your photo, musical roles, interests, availability, collaboration preferences, credits and optional city help other artists find you. City is information you enter; Collab does not request GPS access.
- Community content: Posts, comments, projects, samples, photos, videos, recordings, links and other content you submit provide Collab's community features.
- Conversations: Message content, attachments, replies, reactions and participant identifiers are processed to deliver conversations. Messages are stored by the service; they are not end-to-end encrypted.
- Preferences and activity: Follows, shortlists, likes, saved content, blocks, mutes and notification preferences support functionality and personalization.
- Notifications: If you enable push notifications, an Apple push token is associated with your account to deliver message and project updates.
- Support and safety: Reports, moderation records and feedback help us handle abuse and support requests. Feedback can include your optional contact details, app version and device diagnostic context.
What other people can see
Artist profiles and content you publish are intended to be shared. Published samples and profile images can be accessed by anyone with their media link. Do not publish information you wish to keep private.
Private conversations are available to their participants through authenticated access. Authorized staff can review reported content for moderation. Saved posts, shortlists and muted-artist choices are private account preferences. Recipients can copy or download content; removing it from Collab cannot recall copies they already hold.
Service providers
Convex hosts Collab's community data and uploaded media. Cloudflare Email Sending handles account verification and recovery messages when email delivery is available. Apple and Google process their respective sign-in flows, and Apple delivers enabled push notifications. These providers process information needed to supply the service. Provider infrastructure may process information outside the country where you live.
Collab does not use uploaded music, messages or profiles for an AI feature. The current version has no in-app subscriptions or collaboration payment processing.
Optional product analytics
You can choose whether to share product usage information and change that choice in Settings. When enabled, PointAnalytics sends limited lifecycle and feature events through PostHog. These events exclude message text, profile content, email addresses, uploaded media, filenames and Collab account IDs. They help us understand feature use and product reliability.
The current Collab configuration does not enable Meta or TikTok advertising measurement. Any future activation requires an updated disclosure and applicable permission. Choosing not to share optional usage information does not prevent use of Collab's community features.
Storage, security and retention
Collab stores account and community data on its backend, and stores drafts, preferences and cached content on your device. Live session credentials are kept in the device Keychain. Network requests use HTTPS. Private attachment downloads check account and conversation access, including blocking and moderation state. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.
We keep information needed to operate your account and the features you use. Deleting your account revokes access and starts removal of its owned community data and media from the operational service. Provider backups and records needed for security, dispute handling or legal obligations may have different retention periods. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your online account.
Your choices and requests
You can edit your profile, remove your posts and samples, manage notifications, change optional analytics consent, block artists and report content. To delete your account, use Settings → Delete account. Contact us if you cannot sign in or need help accessing, correcting or deleting information. Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights; contact us to make a request. We may need to verify account ownership before responding. Never send your password or verification code to support.
Children
Collab is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy as Collab changes. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate.
